The wild boar is the ancestor of our domestic pigs. Wild boar live in herds all over European forests. They favor especially young crops, swampy places and thickets. As omnivores they are nourished from acorns, beechnuts, all sorts of plants they find in the rough and also small animals of all kinds. The canines of the male are dangerous weapons. The female raises up to 10 young wild boars which have a conspicuously horizontal striped coat.
