Wild boars have an excellent sense of smell and excellent hearing. They are probably the most intelligent mammals in our forests.

The wild boar, ancestral form of our domestic pig, lives in packs in many forest areas of Europe. It particularly prefers young crops, thickets and swampy areas. As an omnivore, it feeds on acorns, beechnuts, plant matter from the forest floor and all kinds of small animals. With its canine teeth, the boar has dangerous weapons. The sow throws up to 10 strikingly longitudinally striped piglets.
